I wanted to quickly touch on what you mentioned about the material being thin—that’s actually by design. We've heard from a lot of folks that they want the trim / cooktop to sit as flush as possible with the countertop. Keeping it low-profile means the trim looks intentional and minimizes annoying ledges in the way when you're wiping down the counters, etc.
That being said, we are also striving to improve and have recorded your feedback for future iterations.

Excellent product. Complex measurements were easy to enter and the custom trim piece fits exactly as it should.
The process was easy. This was less expensive than other quotes I received it was done on time and looks great.
I ordered a cooktop Trim Kit that was heavier than the standard offered. Sam provided excellent response in ordering and the kit was in the hands of the shipper the next day. The fit and finish is excellent and the installed appliance looks great!

The trim kit worked perfectly. I appreciated the way the piece was packaged for shipping to make sure it was not damaged. And I was glad that the printed sheriff paper in the box reminded me that the oversized hole I was covering may need to have some support for the trim kit. That is very important. Certainly the piece has a beautiful finish and looks fantastic. I’m glad we found this product on the web.
The calculator on the web was helpful also. It would you be nice if the calculator had the option to add the final results to the order form.

Exactly what I needed, previous installer overcut counter and new 36" cooktop had gaps around and this corrected it and added a nice look to the cooktop.

We received the trim with very sharp and un finished edges. I had to debur and polish the whole piece. It was also very flimsy and needed add additional support to keep it gap free.
Thanks for the feedback. I’m sorry your trim kit didn't' meet your expectations. Deburring and protecting the metal are standard steps for us, but we clearly missed the mark on your order. Since reading your review, we’ve changed a several things in our process to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Regarding the thickness, the primary goal of this trim is simply to fill in horizontal gaps around the appliance. We keep it to this specific thickness by design. If we used heavier, thicker metal, the appliance would sit too high off the surface. In our experience, that makes the countertop harder to clean and doesn't look right.
Because it's designed to cover gaps rather than support weight, it isn't a structural piece. We mention on the product page FAQ's that if you have larger gaps, you might need to add some support underneath to support the cooktop and keep it sitting flat.
We stand behind what we make, and I wish you would have reached out to us when it arrived. We would have gladly sent a replacement or taken it back as a return to save you the hassle of fixing it yourself. Thanks again for letting us know so we can keep improving.

I received my stove top trim in the best packaging ever, the product is super great it's exactly how I wanted it! I sent in my measurements via their website, got a quick email response with confirmation and a Start day or making the product. There was a delay that took a few days longer than anticipated and they paid for second day shipping to make up for it. What company does that these days without arguing. No, it does not. The cooktop trim is designed to only fill in the horizontal gaps. The cooktop will either need to overlap the countertop sufficiently or be supported by some other method/structure.
